What is the A2PGrant Initiative?

The A2PGrant Initiative is a student-led initiative through the Skyline and Saline Interact Clubs, supported by the Ann Arbor West and Saline Rotary Clubs. This project aims to raise funds for underprivileged children in a small school in Panipat, Haryana, India. The funds will be used to enhance the education of K-5 students by providing resources to help them achieve 6-12 schooling, ensure access to nutritional food for students who may lack it at home, and supply necessary school materials.

How we're raising money

During the 2024-2025 school year, we are raising money through interactive fundraisers, sponsorships, and online donations. We are holding a variety of fundraisers; for example, our dodgeball tournament and our partnership with the Send Hunger Packing event this year. Additionally, we will be collaborating with various businesses in exchange for donations towards our A2PGrant Initiative. Finally, people who are unable to attend the interactive fundraisers have the option to donate through our website by clicking on the donations icon in the top right corner. Through doing these events, we intend to collect donations in terms of food and money to donate to underprivileged kids in India who don't have access to basic needs.

Our motivations behind this project

As students of Interact Clubs, we're driven to make a difference through community efforts. Rotary International provided us with a way to extend our influence on a global scale, sparking our Global Grant Project: A2PGrant. Seeing the impact our Interact Clubs have made in our hometown communities, we were inspired to bring our clubs to farther places like Panipat, Haryana, India. Interact prides itself on the motto: "service above self," we aim to serve and aid the students at the school through our efforts of this initiative.
